I first met Amanda last summer when she was looking for a wedding photographer. A year later I finally got to meet her super sweet fiancé for their engagement session! Their story is remarkable. They met at Clemson University in calculus class. (Go Tigers!). That’s where their love story began!
After six months of dating Zach began having severe abdominal pain. This led to an ER visit he would never forget. Zach was diagnosed with cancer. This caused him to get behind in school. Due to Zach’s illness this changed their plans of graduating together and moving to Charleston, SC. No matter what curve ball life threw at them, Zach and Amanda hit it head on. Whether it was cancer or living in separate parts of the state of South Carolina, they persevered through it all! I got to experience their love for one another first hand. All I have to say is “WOW!”
The first time we booked their engagement session it had to be rescheduled due to the weather. (I am so glad it did!). We rescheduled it for the following week for a sunrise session! I do not get the opportunity to do many of those, but this one changed my opinion on them! I left my house at 4:15 a.m. to be in Charleston by 7:00. I got there just before the sun came up, and I just knew it was going to be an amazing session!
We started at the notorious Pineapple Fountain, and walked all the way down to the battery!
The weather was perfect until the humidity kicked in, but we still managed to have wonderful session. At the very end, I found this pretty part of the street framed by blooming Crepe Myrtles. I asked Zach to look at Amanda and tell her why out of all the women he could choose, he chose her. As he whispered in her ear, the tears were forming in her eyes! I don’t know what he told her, but he had me holding back tears from the genuine emotion between the two of them! The entire session was so full of love and this last moment between the two of them was icing on the cake! I am so grateful to be able to not only capture these moments, but also create them.
