March 21, 2020 was a beautiful day for a wedding! I got to witness a dear friend of mine marry her soulmate. I have known Carla for many years and having the honor to capture her wedding day was the best feeling. I first met Vic at their engagement session last year. After meeting him I had no doubt in my mind that Carla was marrying her person. The way he hugged her, held her hand, and even the way he took care of Ellie (Carla’s beloved Boston Terrier) he was definitely the one! Carla has always had the most beautiful spirit about her and Vic just let’s her shine. The way they look at each other just shows how much they adore one another. I felt so grateful to be the one who capture their wedding day!
The wedding day was held at Glenview Farms in Timmonsville, SC. The amount of love surrounding this sweet couple was so evident. Carla was sharing mimosas with her ladies as they were getting ready. We cleared the room so Carla and her mom could have a moment between the two of them as she got dressed. After this we did a father reveal (one of my favorite moments)! Her father and step-father (they don’t use the word “step”) both smiled so big when they saw her. They couldn’t get over how beautiful she looked. After the dad’s we decided to do a bridesmaid reveal! Their reactions were everything. Such a sweet moment between Carla and her girls!
Vic was so ready to see Carla on their wedding day! He was ready for the waiting part to be over. During their gift exchange I remember him saying how he didn’t want to let go of her hand and just wanted to hold her. After all of the waiting and photos being taken it was finally time for their ceremony. Carla was walked down the aisle by her fathers and Ellie. Vic and his father became emotional as she made her way to him. They made their vows to one another, exchanged rings, and Vic finally could kiss his bride! They shared the rest of their evening with family! When it was time for the bouquet toss Carla handed it off to her cousin because her boyfriend proposed. Carla planned this all out and was so happy for her! Vic and Carla were so happy to be a part of the surprise. One moment during the night that has stayed in my mind was Vic's father giving his toast. He told a story about a time Carla & Vic visited his dad in the hospital. Before Carla reached for Vic's grandpa's hand she warmed hers first. She said she didn't want to grab his hands while hers were still cold. This describes Carla to a tee! She is always thinking of others. After this big surprise and toasts it was back to dancing and laughing for the rest of the night. We sent Carla and Vic off with a radiant sparkler send off as Mr. & Mrs. Landon!
