October 5th was the first day the weather actually felt like fall. I traveled to Greenwood, SC to capture Michelle and Jerry’s wedding day. When I arrived, Michelle and her lovely ladies were laughing, talking, and just enjoying the celebration. Michelle’s girls were genuinely so happy for her. It was so sweet to witness! They even wrote her letters in secret. Michelle couldn’t read them without crying, so she decided to wait until later.
Jerry and the guys got to enjoy their morning hanging out, playing pool, and dancing to Sandstorm! Even as a Clemson fan I find the Sandstorm dance pretty catchy. Both Jerry and Michelle love the South Carolina Gamecocks!
The weather was not cooperating whatsoever for an outdoor wedding. It rained until thirty minutes before the ceremony started. During this time, I suggested to Michelle we should do a first look with her father and brother. Her brother smiled from ear to ear while Michelle and her father had happy tears. It was such a sweet moment for her and her family (I almost teared up a little myself).
Before we all walked out, the bridesmaids and I made a tiny bet if Jerry would cry or not. They all said no because he was so good at hiding his emotions. Of course, I said he will shed tears because Michelle looked so beautiful. How could he not?
Finally, the moment we have been waiting on all day! It was time for the ceremony to start. Everything came together so perfectly. When it was time for Michelle to walk down the aisle with her father, we asked Jerry to turn around and face the pastor. This way he would truly be surprised when he saw her. Jerry started crying while he patiently waited for the moment he could turn to see Michelle. Jerry’s reaction to Michelle was a moment that will never be forgotten. Even his father was emotional at the pure joy of watching his son’s reaction. I can almost guarantee there wasn’t a dry eye during the ceremony. Their ceremony was so beautiful from the décor to the final kiss to seal their commitment to one another.
After the ceremony we took a few minutes to take a few bride and groom photos. Jerry wanted to do nothing else but hold and kiss Michelle (so sweet!). We joined the rest of the wedding crew to get the party started. When they entered the reception all of the guest were ready to celebrate to the Sandstorm. Everyone was dancing, waving their towels to the newlyweds! It was so much fun and a great surprise. The rest of the evening was spent eating great food, dancing, and celebrating with friends and family. We sent Jerry and Michelle off with a fun glow stick exit!
