Any opportunity I have to photograph in Charleston, SC I jump on it! I was so excited for Hunter and Taylor’s wedding day. I knew we would create gorgeous photographs that would last a lifetime.
I arrived at the beautiful Francis Marion Hotel to capture getting ready photos. I walked into the room to see Taylor jamming out to some of her favorite tunes and hanging out with her girls. I always love to see brides relaxing and just enjoying the company of her bridesmaids. One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is getting ready pictures. Everyone is filled with excitement and ready to watch all of the planning come to life. Taylor & Hunter wrote sweet little letters to one another to read while they were getting ready. The happy tears that filled Taylor’s eyes were so precious to see. We asked Taylor’s mom to help with the wedding gown, shoes, and jewelry. The moment that she was all ready brought a whole new emotion - Excitement!
Hunter was at the College of Charleston campus waiting to see his bride for the first time. You could feel the excitement/nervousness coming from him. I had him face the opposite direction and asked Taylor to walk out and tap him on the shoulder when she was ready. He heard her foot steps as she walked closer and tears started to fill his eyes. She gently tapped him on the shoulder and his head fell at how beautiful she looked! She asked “What do you think?” and he said, “It is everything I could have dreamed.” They hugged each other for a few moments, and then started laughing.
After their first look, you could feel stress disappear. Hunter and Taylor were so relaxed and just happy! We finished portraits and went back to the hotel for sandwiches and touchups.
The ceremony and reception took place at Merchants Hall. This venue was stunning! The tall ceilings, exposed brick, and gorgeous chandeliers created the perfect setting for a wedding. Hunter and Taylor’s ceremony was beautiful! They held hands and committed their lives to one another in front of friends and family.
The dinner was served, drinks were poured, and the dancing never stopped! Taylor and her girls owned the dance floor. Even Hunter came out for a five second dance. The sparkler exit approached quickly! A beautiful vintage Rolls Royce was waiting to pick up the newlyweds. They walked through the sparkler tunnel, exchanged kisses and drove off to start their lives as Mr. & Mrs. McClamb!
