Emily and Baker were childhood friends. They met at a church camp called “Look-Up Lodge” when they were only 9 and 10 years old, and continued to grow up together attending all of the same schools. Back in 2018, while both were at Apple Annie’s famous Thanksgiving Eve Party, they ran into each other. Talking and reminiscing came naturally for these two and soon led to their first official date. Emily remembers that it was at Olive Garden and that they ironically ordered the exact same thing. But the best part about that date, was it ended with their first kiss.
Knowing that their friendship started at “Look-Up Lodge”, it only seemed natural and sentimental, that Baker would take her back there to propose. Emily recalls that they walked out to the dock over the lake, and as she focused her attention to the zip-lines of their childhood, Baker dropped to one knee. She says it was the easiest “YES” she’s ever said!
These two love boating together and visiting Isle of Palms with friends and family, which made the beach the perfect location for their engagement session. Photographing these two, you could tell that the love is genuine and rooted in love. When asked, Baker loves how open and honest Emily is, especially in the way she loves and treats others. His most favorite though, is simply in the way she loves him. Emily admires Baker’s thoughtfulness and servant’s heart when it comes to helping others. She says that he is charismatic guy with a heart of gold and one of the easiest people to talk to.
